Greyhound applications & notifications / Pannus notification

Pannus, or chronic superficial keratitis, is a condition seen in greyhounds that affects the surface of the eye. If left untreated, it can cause visual impairment.

Pannus is treated with prednefrin eye drops prescribed by a veterinarian. Prednefrin eye drops contain Prednisolone, which along with its metabolites, is a prohibited substance. The use of prednefrin eye drops must be registered with the Commission to avoid a positive result for a prohibited substance during swabbing.

Participants that have a greyhound being treated for Pannus must notify the Commission by completing a Pannus notification. The Commission will then issue a new greyhound identification card to indicate the greyhound is being treated for pannus.
